Myofascial Release (MFR)

John F. Barnes Myofascial Release Approach

Fascia is a tough connective tissue that surrounds the entire body. It's a three dimensional web that connects from head to toe without interruption.

Trauma, poor posture, inflammation, and/or surgical procedures create Myofascial restrictions that can produce tensile pressures of approximately 2,000 pounds per square inch on pain sensitive structures that do not show up in many of the standard tests (x-rays, myelograms, MRI, electromyography, etc.)

Myofascial release consists of gentle application of sustained pressure to the fascial restrictions, allowing it to elongate.

MFR can help alleviate:

Back/Neck/Pelvic Pain, Whiplash, Chronic Pain, Disc Problems, Headache/Migraines, Neurological Dysfunction, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Carpal Tunnel, Jaw Pain (TMJ), Scoliosis, Sciatica, Myofascial Pain Syndrome and Women's Health Issues
