Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)
Specially designed instruments effectively break down fascial restrictions and scar tissue.
The microtrauma produced by the manipulation of the instruments causes a local inflammatory response.
This initiates reabsorption of inappropriate fibrosis or excessive scar tissue and facilitates remodelling of affected soft tissue structures.
Adhesions (muscle "knots") which may have developed as a result of surgery, immobilization, repeated strain or other mechanisms, are broken down over time. Allowing for full function and restoration of the affected soft tissue. Multiple treatments may be necessary.
